SINOROCK supported the successful convening of the Hubei Province Training Course on Integrity Testing of Foundation Piles in Highway and Waterway Engineering Using the Sonic Transmission Method.

The “Hubei Province Highway and Waterway Engineering Foundation Pile Integrity Testing (Acoustic Tomography) Training Course,” hosted by the Hubei Provincial Association for Transportation Construction Supervision and Inspection, was successfully held in Wuhan from July 22 to 24. Nearly 100 testing technicians from across the province’s transportation sector participated in the training, which concluded with the successful completion of theoretical instruction, hands-on field exercises, and an assessment.

The “Hubei Province Highway and Waterway Engineering Foundation Pile Integrity Testing (Acoustic Tomography) Training Course,” hosted by the Hubei Provincial Association for Transportation Construction Supervision and Inspection, was successfully held in Wuhan from July 22 to 24. Nearly 100 testing technicians from across the province’s transportation sector participated in the program, completing all theoretical instruction, hands-on field exercises, and assessments.

The training program focuses on sonic transmission testing, with a comprehensive curriculum that covers the principles and system components of the method, acoustic signal characteristics and interpretation techniques, identification of typical defects and analysis of engineering case studies, an overview of relevant standards for pile integrity, as well as practical demonstrations and hands-on instruction.

During the training, experts delivered clear and concise lectures, drawing on real-world case studies to help participants from across the province’s transportation sector gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles and key applications of testing technologies.

To ensure that trainees truly acquire practical operational skills, this training program incorporates hands-on instruction and assessment, conducted at the SINOROCK Model Pile Base. Built to replicate real-world construction conditions, the base features standardized pile structures and a fully equipped instrumentation setup, making it one of the few specialized training and testing facilities in Hubei Province.

SINOROCK provided multiple sets of sonic‑transmission testing equipment on site and assigned senior engineers to offer end-to-end guidance, covering equipment connection, commissioning and calibration procedures, probe placement and operational workflow demonstrations, on-site data acquisition, waveform interpretation, troubleshooting during hands-on sessions, as well as technical oversight and result verification during the assessment phase. Nearly 100 trainees completed practical training in phases at the facility, and by meeting the comprehensive requirements of “easy to understand, easy to operate, and capable of accurate interpretation,” their hands‑on skills were significantly enhanced.
