Project Overview

  • Project Name: China Power Construction Bureau 5 – Yongjia Pumped Storage Power Station, Baiqiao Line, Zhang’ao Village, Yongjia County, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province

  • Project Type: Hydropower (Pumped Storage Power Station)

  • Location: Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, China

  • Testing Equipment: RSM-SY6(C) Ultrasonic Rock Mass Tester

Testing Purpose & Method
The testing was conducted as part of third-party quality inspection and safety evaluation of underground structures at the pumped storage power station. The ultrasonic wave velocity method was used to determine the loosening zone of surrounding rock, a key parameter for assessing stability after blasting excavation.

Testing Scope

  • Determination of loosening zones around underground caverns and tunnels

  • Quality acceptance and verification of construction blasting impact

  • Structural safety evaluation of surrounding rock

Testing Results

  • Findings: Ultrasonic wave velocity data indicated that the surrounding rock mass remained intact.

  • Impact: No cracks or significant stress reduction were detected, confirming that blasting operations did not adversely affect nearby rock stability.

Evaluation

  • Engineering Evaluation: The surrounding rock stability met design expectations, supporting both safety and quality acceptance of the hydropower project.

  • Equipment Performance: The RSM-SY6(C) performed with high accuracy and reliability, successfully detecting wave velocity responses and ensuring trustworthy results.
