Case Study: Tingcheng Jingyue Li First Phase – Buildings 11 & 15 and Non-Civil Air Defense Basement Project
Project Overview
-
Project Name: Tingcheng Jingyue Li First Phase – Buildings 11 & 15 and Non-Civil Air Defense Basement Project
-
Location: Northeast of the intersection of Jinling Road and Zuiweng Road, Nanqiao District, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, China
Pile Foundation Engineering
This project adopts friction end-bearing piles using PHC-600-AB-110 and PHC-500-AB-100 precast concrete pipe piles as the foundation solution.
-
Pile Type: Uplift- and compression-resistant piles with cross-shaped steel pile tips
-
Installation Method: Static jacking
-
Effective Pile Length: Approximately 12 m
Testing Program
Low strain integrity testing with a dual-channel method was performed after the completion of the first floor of the main structure to re-check pile length and verify compliance with design requirements. Prior to testing, soil on one side of the pile was excavated to expose ~1.7 m of the pile shaft. Two sensors were installed with adhesive along the pile axis:
-
Sensor 1: 0.4 m below pile top
-
Sensor 2: 0.87 m below pile top
This ensured reliable signal acquisition and accurate assessment of pile length under actual construction conditions.
