Case Study: High Strain PDA Testing – Hankou Station North Square Project
Project Overview
The Hankou Station North Square Project is a key urban infrastructure development designed to serve citizens in northern Hankou, including Dongxihu District, Huangpi District, and Xinzhou District of Wuhan. As part of the foundation works, reliable verification of pile bearing capacity was required to ensure the safety and stability of the structure.
Test Details
Project: High Strain PDA Testing for Foundation Piles
Test Items: High strain dynamic pile bearing capacity test
Pile Parameters: Length 45 m; Diameter 800 mm; Design limit value 3000 kN (single pile)
Test Scope: 18 foundation piles within the excavation area
Test Date: March 2022
Method: High Strain Pile Dynamic Analysis (PDA)
Execution & Results
A third-party testing team was entrusted to carry out high strain dynamic testing on the designated piles. The tests successfully confirmed that the piles met the design requirements for load-bearing performance, providing assurance of foundation safety for the North Square development.
Client Feedback
The client highlighted the user-friendly interface of the new testing equipment, noting its sensitive touchscreen operation and high-definition display. In PIT (Pile Integrity Testing), the sensors were found to be more responsive compared to those of other equipment manufacturers, further enhancing testing reliability.
